The following is used to generate a TWX-Key used for updating the software on a TWX670.
Step 1: Download the zip folder attached to this article and "Extract All". The resulting extracted folder should contain the following files:
The folder titled TWX files contains the SREC files (which are the different software versions). They are numbered accordingly.
The ".key" file is an example of the key file we will be generating.
Double clicking the Command Prompt will open a Windows CMND interface you'll need for generating the TWX key.
The "Read Me" file contains written instructions, which I feel are inadequate (which is why I've created this KB article).
Step 2: Double click the Command Prompt shortcut.
In this example, I will use a fictitious serial number of 123456789. Replace this with the actual serial number of the unit to be updated in your scenario.
At the command prompt we will enter the following, exactly as typed:
TWX-670.KEY.bat 123456789
Hitting "Enter" will now generate the key for serial number 123456789
After a few seconds you should see the following:
At this point your key has been generated. Close the command prompt window, and return to the TWX-Key Generator Folder, and you should now see a key file for your serial number:
Copy this key over to the SD card to be used for the update. Then go into the folder TWX_Files and find the SREC software version you intend to load. Copy that file over to the thumb drive as well. You should be all set to follow the service bulletin from there
